This Privacy Policy explains how Spendbyte (“Spendbyte,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you and your team use the Spendbyte merchant platform, dashboard, and related services (the “Merchant Services”).

By using the Merchant Services you agree to the practices described here. This policy works alongside our Merchant Terms and Conditions.

Spendbyte runs a campus-oriented platform that helps Ghanaian students save, earn loyalty points, and discover merchants through offers, games, and ads. The merchant platform is the tool businesses use to list those offers, run promotions, and view performance.

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide

• Account and business details such as your name, phone number, shop information, and registration or tax identifiers.
• Content you upload, including offer details, images, and ad creatives.
• Support requests and other messages you send us.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data, such as pages viewed, actions taken, and general technical information about the device you use.
• Performance data about your offers, including impressions, claims, and redemptions.

• To create and manage your merchant account and shops.
• To publish your offers and connect them with relevant students.
• To show you analytics on redemptions, repeat visits, and offer performance.
• To provide support, security, fraud prevention, and settlement.
• To improve the platform and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your information. We may share it with:

• Service providers who help us run the platform (for example hosting, messaging, and analytics), under contracts that protect the data.
• Students, to the extent needed to present and honour your offers (for example your business name and offer details).
• Authorities or other parties where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the platform.

The platform may show you transaction, redemption, and aggregate spending data so you can run your offers. You must use this data only to operate your offers and serve customers, keep it secure, and follow our Merchant Terms and applicable data protection law. You must not sell it or use it for unrelated purposes.

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Merchant Services, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Help us protect your account by keeping your phone and login codes private and reporting anything suspicious.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us through your merchant dashboard. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the platform. Your continued use of the Merchant Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
